Lily's Journey to Forgiveness

Letting Go of Hurt and Anger

Anger and hurt can feel overwhelming for kids — and hard for parents and teachers to navigate.

When apologies don’t come, children often hold on to pain, letting it weigh them down and dim their joy.

That’s precisely what happens to Lily when a classmate refuses to say sorry. She feels stuck in her anger — until Gramma Kate shows her a healthier way forward.

With patience, love, and gentle wisdom, Lily learns how to face her feelings, let them go, and discover that forgiveness is really a gift she gives herself.

This book has inspired children in classrooms, counselling rooms and homes around the world. Here's what teachers, counsellors, and families are saying about Lily's Journey to Forgiveness.

John Doe's Image
"This book is truly a help through the journey towards forgiveness. Lily experiences a hurtful, upsetting incident at school that really lingers in her heart and mind. Thankfully, Lily has the help of her wise Gramma Kate. Gramma walks Lily through identifying and letting go of her hurt. This book wisely offers some therapeutic ways to identify our hurt and to help work our way through it too. It also acknowledges that forgiveness is often a hard process but that it is always in our best interest to forgive rather than to hold onto resentment or bitterness. Instilling this character in a young child would benefit them for a lifetime!"

This is a beautiful story about how difficult forgiveness can be, but how very important it is! Lily is having a hard time forgiving a classmate who was very unkind to her and she has a lot of negative feelings towards him. Her Grandma Kate helps her process her feelings through drawing and talking and then throws the paper into the fire. Lily realizes how much better she feels after releasing her feelings and forgiving her classmate. Forgiveness can be hard, but it is so much better than holding a grudge. A beautiful story with engaging illustrations.
